IATA: Industry recovery has 'hit a wall'

IATA director general and CEO Alexandre de Juniac reported (04-Nov-2020) the aviation industry has "hit a wall" in its recovery, with the resurgence in COVID-19 outbreaks combined with "governments' reliance on the blunt instrument of quarantine in the absence of globally aligned testing regimes", halting momentum toward re-opening borders to travel. Mr de Juniac said governments "need to align on testing as a way to open borders and enable travel without quarantine; and provide further relief measures to sustain the industry through the dark winter ahead".
