Passengers numbers during the month increased 7.6% to 5.0 million, cargo volume increased 1.0% to 337,000 tonnes and aircraft movements increased 7.5% to 30,555. Passenger traffic growth was driven by Hong Kong resident travel and visitor traffic, which saw 12% and 10% increases, respectively. Passenger traffic to/from mainland China and Southeast Asia performed particularly well. Meanwhile, Airport Authority Hong Kong CEO Stanley Hui also reported cross-boundary ferry traffic between Hong Kong Airport and eight ports in the Pearl River Delta including Macau recorded more than 1.3 million passengers, up 5.8%, in 1H2013.
