Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport remains the busiest airport in the world in 2016

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed announced (02-Feb-2017) Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) was the world's busiest airport for the 19th consecutive year in 2016. The airport recorded 104,171,935 passengers, an increase of 2.6% year-on-year, and handled 898,356 aircraft. Mayor Reed said, "With our multibillion dollar capital plan currently underway, ATL is positioned to continue leading the aviation industry in the decades ahead". [more - original PR]
