Hainan Airlines expands network in Asia/India

Hainan Airlines announced plans to expand its network in Asia and the Indian sub-continent with new services to Thailand, India and Sri Lanka (Routes Online, 03-Aug-2011). The carrier plans to launch twice weekly Shenzhen-Mumbai service on 18-Sep-2011, marking its second route in India, as an extension of its Shanghai Pudong-Shenzhen service and launch a Beijing-Bangkok-Colombo link from 18-Oct-2011. The addition of Mumbai marks a strategic expansion into the Indian sub-continent. The airline launched three times weekly Shenzhen-Kolkata service in Jul-2011, with plans to further expand capacity in the Indian market. The Beijing-Bangkok-Colombo service marks the fifth Hainan Airlines link between China and Thailand and third to Bangkok.
