Gulf Air to 'reinvent itself' as a 'boutique' airline: CCO

Gulf Air CCO Vincent Coste, speaking at the CAPA Middle East & Africa Aviation Summit, stated (29-Apr-2019) the challenge for Gulf Air is to "reinvent itself" as a "boutique" airline. Mr Coste said Gulf Air is a connecting carrier, but has no intention to grow to the scale of Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways or Turkish Airlines. The carrier instead studied the hospitality sector, including large hotel chains and boutique hotels, and is working to translate the boutique concept to the airline.
