GE to announce projects in China yielding USD2.1bn during presidential visit

General Electric Co reportedly plans to announce aviation, rail and energy projects in China yielding USD2.1 billion in sales during Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to the US this week (Bloomberg/Reuters, 19-Jan-2011). As part of this, General Electric will reportedly finalise the previously announced JV with Aviation Industry Corp (AVIC). The initial focus of the 50-50 JV will be to develop equipment for China's C919 passenger jet.
