GACM awards Runways 2 and 3 construction for USD427m and USD397m

Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de Mexico (GACM) awarded (02-Sep-2016) two consortia the construction of both Runway 2 and Runway 3 of New Mexico City International Airport (NMCIA). Runway 2 construction tender was awarded to the consortium formed by Coconal and Constructora y Pavimentador VISE, with a bid of MXN7.9 billion (USD427.5 million). Runway 3 construction was awarded to the consortium formed by CICSA, Constructora y Edificadora Gia+A, Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana, and La Peninsular Compania Constructora, with a bid of MXN7.4 billion (USD397 million). The runways will be 5000m x 60m in addition to taxiways, totalling 400m width runway and taxiways. As previously reported by CAPA, GACM was already awarded the construction of the electrical substation on 29-Aug-2016 and the foundations of the terminal building and ATC tower on 01-Sep-2016.
