Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corp of Japan warns JAL cabin crew against strike

Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corp of Japan (ETIC) reportedly threatened to withhold its planned capital injection into Japan Airlines Corp if its unions continue moving toward a strike in protest of planned job reductions (The Nikkei, 18-Nov-2010). Cabin crew union officials criticised ETIC's actions as "serious interference in labour affairs". JAL's cabin crew union is voting on the right to strike in protest of the carrier's decision to terminate employment contracts with flight attendants and pilots. Should a majority of the membership vote in favour, the union will be authorised to call a strike. ETIC has also issued a similar warning to JAL's pilot union.
