Emirates SkyCargo to open dedicated vaccine distribution hub at Dubai World Central

Emirates SkyCargo announced (22-Oct-2020) plans to establish a dedicated airside hub for handling worldwide COVID-19 vaccine distribution. The carrier will reopen the Emirates SkyCentral DWC cargo terminal at Dubai World Central to serve as an anchor hub for cold chain storage and distribution of the vaccine. The airline stated the facility will be the world's first dedicated airside cargo hub for the vaccine and the world's largest GDP compliant air cargo hub. Emirates SkyCentral DWC features more than 4000sqm of temperature controlled, GDP certified storage for pharmaceuticals. The facility is estimated to have capacity for approximately 10 million vaccine vials.
