Emirates adds Munich and Rome to A380 network

Emirates stated (28-Jul-2011) a fifth European airport, Munich, will be added to the airline's A380 network on 01-Jan-2012, joining London Heathrow, Manchester, Paris CDG and Rome Leonardo da Vinci. A380 service to Rome will commence on 01-Dec-2011, replacing B777-300 service. The carrier had originally planned to commence A380 service to Rome in late-2009 although these plans were postponed (Airline Route, 27-Jul-2011). From 01-Oct-2011, the A380 will also commence operations to Johannesburg, followed by Kuala Lumpur from 01-Dec-2011. The carrier has 15 A380s in its fleet, with the aircraft operating services from Dubai to Sydney and Auckland, London Heathrow (twice daily), Manchester, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Toronto, Seoul, Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai, Jeddah, New York and Hong Kong.
