Dubai International Airport monthly pax exceeds 4.5 million for the seventh time in 2012 in Aug-2012

UAE's Dubai International Airport reported (25-Sep-202) passenger numbers increased 20% year-on-year to 4.0 million in Aug-2012, attributable to a lower base caused by fluctuating travel patterns during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan in Aug-2011. AGCC routes topped the list of regions with the largest growth in passenger numbers (+252,084), followed by Western Europe (+193,945), the Indian subcontinent (+118,672), and Africa (+69,384). The top regions in terms of percentage growth in traffic included South America (97.8%), the AGCC (47.8%), and Russia and CIS (37.4%). The airport also reported a 4.4% increase in cargo volume to 190,770 tonnes and an 8.3% increase in aircraft movements to 27,986. [more - original PR]
