Dubai Duty Free 1H2011 sales up 17%

UAE's Dubai Duty Free reported a 16.6% year-on-year increase in duty free sales at Dubai International Airport to USD698 million in the first six months of 2011 including a 31% increase in sales at the airport's terminal 2 facility, a 15% increase in sales at terminal 1 and a 16% sales increase at terminal 3 (Trend/Trade Arabia, 03-Jul-2011). The Middle East accounts for 7.4% of global duty free sales with DDF accounting for 5.4% of airport shop sales and 3.2% of the wider duty free and travel retail global business.
