Dubai Airports invests USD1.2bn in new Concourse D to house 70 international airlines

Dubai Airports chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said (24-Feb-2015) the airports operator will "continue to invest in the development of top-flight infrastructure" to augment service levels for international airlines at Dubai International Airport, as well as improving passenger capacity and service level. Dubai Airports invested USD1.2 billion in the opening of the new Concourse D at the airport. More than 70 airlines will relocate to the new facility. Concourse D provides 21 contact stands, of which four will be able to accommodate A380 or Boeing 747 aircraft, and 11 remote stands, with a design capacity for 18 million passengers.
