Delta Air Lines reports pax growth in Mar-2016 and 1Q2016, PRASM down 5%

Delta Air Lines reports (04-Apr-2016) the following traffic highlights in Mar-2016:

  • Mar-2016:
    • Passenger numbers: 15.8 million, +2.1% year-on-year;
    • Passenger traffic (RPMs): +1.2%;
    • Passenger load factor: 84.8%, -0.2 ppt;
      • Domestic: 85.8%, -1.2 ppt;
      • International: 83.0%, +1.0 ppt;
  • Three months ended 31-Mar-2016:
    • Passenger numbers: 41.9 million, +4.8%;
    • Passenger traffic (RPMs): +3.2%;
    • Passenger load factor: 82.1%, +0.4 ppt;

Delta Air Lines: "Consolidated passenger unit revenue (PRASM) for the month of March declined 5.0% year over year. Results for the month include a 1.5 point headwind from foreign exchange and a USD5 million impact from the recent events in Brussels.
