Delhi airspace closed during Commonwealth Games ceremonies

India's Government announced (26-Sep-2010) plans to close the Delhi airspace from 17:00 to 22:00 on 03-Oct-2010 and 14-Oct-2010 during the opening and closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games. No flight will be permitted to take-off/land at Delhi Airport and other airports within a 300kms zone except:

  • Routine commercial flights;
  • IAF, BSF and ARC flights;
  • State-owned aircraft/helicopters flying the governor or chief minister within the state and subject to necessary clearance from ministry of home affairs. [more]
