Chongqing Airport targets 22 million pax in 2012

China’s Chongqing Airport stated it is targeting 22.0 million passengers and 300,000 tonnes of cargo in 2012, according to the Chongqing Daily. The airport reported a 20.6% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers to 19.1 million and a 19.6% growth in cargo volume to 237,00 tonnes in 2011, making it the fastest growing airport out of China’s top 10 airports. The airport was also ranked ninth in terms of annual passenger numbers in China in 2011.
