China's aviation profit surges 54% in Apr-2011

CAAC announced China's aviation industry reported a 53.8% year-on-year increase in profit to CNY4160 million (USD630.3 million) in Apr-2011 (Yicai, 23-May-2011). Details include:

  • Profit: CNY4160 million (USD630.3 million), +53.8% year-on-year;
    • Airlines: CNY3180 million (USD481.8 million), +57.9%;
    • Airports: CNY510 million (USD77.3 million), +11.1%;
  • Passenger numbers: 24.4 million, +13.0%;
  • Passenger load factor: 83.2%, +4.0 ppts;
    • Domestic: 84.8%, +5.3 ppts;
    • Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan: 79.8%, +2.5 ppts;
    • International: 76.7%, -0.9 ppt;
  • Cargo volume: 478,300 tonnes, +2.6%.
