China Southern pax and cargo up in Dec-2011; 80.7 million pax in FY2011

China Southern Airlines reports (09-Jan-2012) the following traffic highlights:

  • Dec-2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 6.3 million, +6.3% year-on-year;
      • Domestic: 5.7 million, +5.6%;
      • Regional: 148,690, +7%;
      • International: 519,640, +15.2%;
    • Passenger load factor: 77.8%, -1.6 ppts;
      • Domestic: 79.7%, -1.6 ppts;
      • Regional: 70.6%, -0.9 ppt;
      • International: 71.7%, -0.5 ppt;
    • Cargo volume: 104,710 tonnes, +3.2%;
      • Domestic: 82,240 tonnes, +4%;
      • Regional: 1080 tonnes, -2.7%;
      • International: 21,380 tonnes, +0.4%;
  • 12 months ended Dec-2011:
    • Passenger numbers: 80.7 million, +5.5%;
      • Domestic: 72.9 million, +4.6%;
      • Regional: 1.8 million, +12.3%;
      • International: 6.0 million, +16%;
    • Passenger load factor: 81%, +1.7 ppts;
      • Domestic: 82.7%, +2.6 ppts;
      • Regional: 75.6%, -0.3 ppt;
      • International: 73.9%, -0.9 ppt;
    • Cargo volume: 1.1 million tonnes, +1.5%;
      • Domestic: 856,880 tonnes, -1.9%;
      • Regional: 12,770 tonnes, +6.6%;
      • International: 264,910 tonnes, +14.4%.
