China Eastern Airlines to expand fleet and network in Xiamen

China Eastern Airlines stated (27-Jul-2020) it plans to make Xiamen an important pillar in its 'four beams and eight pillars' route strategy, following the official establishment of its Xiamen branch company on 25-Jul-2020. The carrier will base 40 aircraft in Xiamen by 2025 and plans to increase frequency on services between Xiamen and Shanghai, Beijing, Kunming and Xian. The carrier also plans to expand services from Xiamen to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and Taiwan, as well as develop services to key cities in Europe and the US "at the right time".
