China Eastern Airlines confirms antitrust approval for Jetstar Hong Kong

China Eastern Airlines confirmed (01-Feb-2013) the carrier's Jetstar Hong Kong JV with Qantas Airways recently received antitrust approval from China's Ministry of Commerce. The start-up will operate a fleet of A320s, which will increase to 18 by 2015. Expected to commence operations later this year, Jetstar Hong Kong will operate services between Hong Kong and major cities in mainland China as well as routes to Southeast Asia within three to five hours.
