Cebu Pacific welcomes ratification of ASEAN Open Skies
Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) welcomed (10-Feb-2016) ratification of the ASEAN Open Skies agreement by the Philippines' Government. The agreement allows designated carriers to operate unlimited services between ASEAN capital cities. Subject to regulatory approvals, the agreement also allows carriers to upgrade services to widebody aircraft and increase capacity without negotiations. The airline stated, "This streamlined process will enable CEB to focus on expanding its operations, stimulating passenger traffic, and improving customer experience rather than spending valuable resources on negotiating for additional air rights." Cebu Pacific operates to 11 destinations in seven ASEAN countries, including Bangkok, Brunei, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. [more - original PR]
