CAAS and CAANZ sign MoU regarding aviation safety cooperation, aids bilateral technical arrangements

Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAANZ) signed (11-Jun-2019) a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding stronger cooperation in enhancing aviation safety. The MoU will facilitate the sharing of aviation safety information, training and knowledge exchange in safety policy development through joint seminars, research projects and studies on aviation safety topics. The MoU will also enable both parties to work towards concluding bilateral technical arrangements which will facilitate reciprocal acceptance of approvals and certificates, to reduce duplication of regulatory audits and associated regulatory costs. CAANZ CEO Graeme Harris stated: "New Zealand sees real benefit from this partnership approach in the highlighted areas of airworthiness certification and maintenance arrangements, aviation safety information sharing, and training and knowledge exchange. Greater collaboration will enable us to share knowledge and experiences to benefit the aviation system". [more - original PR]
