British Airways to take delivery of first 787-8 on 26-Jun-2013, first A380 on 04-Jul-2013

British Airways announced (10-Jun-2013) plans to take delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 aircraft on 26-Jun-2013 followed by its second 787 on 27-Jun-2013. The airline also plans to take delivery of its first A380 on 04-Jul-2013. The deliveries will make British Airways the first European airline to operate both aircraft types. British Airways CEO Keith Williams said, "Over the next 12 months, we will take delivery of new long-haul aircraft at an average rate of one every two weeks. Both aircraft types make major environmental advances and will contribute toward our ambitious targets for noise and carbon reduction". [more - original PR]
