Boeing forecasts Chinese aircraft market valued at USD1 trillion over next 20 years

Boeing released (13-Sep-2016) its 20-year outlook for China, projecting demand for 6,810 new aircraft in the country, valued at USD1.025 trillion. China becomes the first trillion dollar aviation market in Boeing's forecast, and will account for 17% of both deliveries and total market value. Forecast details include:
  • Traffic growth: 6.4% p/a;
  • Regional jets: 140, USD10 billion market value;
  • Narrowbody aircraft: 5110, USD535 billion;
  • Small widebody aircraft: 870, USD240 billion;
  • Medium widebody aircraft: 630, USD220 billion;
  • Large widebody aircraft: 60, USD20 billion.;
  • New freighters: 180;
