Boeing completes 737 MAX software update, working with FAA on piloting requests

Boeing completed (16-May-2019) development of updated software for the 737 MAX manoeuvering characteristics augmentation system. The company also completed associated simulator testing and the company's engineering test flight. Boeing is now providing additional information to address US FAA requests, including detail on how pilots interact with the aircraft controls and displays in different flight scenarios. Once the requests are addressed, Boeing will work with the FAA to schedule a certification test flight and submit final certification documentation. In addition, Boeing developed enhanced training and education materials, which are being reviewed with the FAA, global regulators and airline customers to support return-to-service and longer term operations of the 737 MAX.
