Berlin Airports reports record year for traffic in 2011

Germany's Berlin Airports stated (16-Dec-2011) it has set a new passenger record in 2011, having welcomed its 23 millionth passenger last week. Close to 24 million passengers are expected in the full-year, representing growth of around 7% year-on-year. "2011 will go down in our history as another record year. For the ninth year in a row, traffic growth at Berlin Airports was higher than the average for all German airports. Our continuous growth in the past years has laid an outstanding foundation for the future Berlin Brandenburg Airport," Berlin Airports CEO Dr Rainer Schwarz said. [more - original PR]
