Berlin Airports expects to handle at least 25 million passengers in 2012

Germany's Berlin Airports stated it expects to handle at least 25 million passengers in 2012, as reported by dpa. In 2011, Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schoenefeld airports handled 24 million passengers. As previously reported, Berlin Airports handled 11.9 million passengers in the six months ended 30-Jun-2012 (+5.1% year-on-year), with 3.4 million passengers at Berlin Schoenefeld (+2.0%) and 8.4 million passengers at Berlin Tegel (+6.5%). Berlin Airports CEO Rainer Schwarz at the time said, "the traffic figures for the first six months show quite clearly that the aviation market in the Berlin region remains a stable growth market. This, of course, increases the challenges we face in handling the current volume of passengers with our services at Tegel and Schoenefeld".
