Avinor reports record year in pax in 2012

Norway's Avinor reported (11-Jan-2013) more than 46 million passengers travelled through its airports in 2012, two million more than in 2011 (+5%) and a new record. Avinor CEO Dag Falk-Petersen stated, "we are now spending several billion kroner in increasing capacity to meet the needs of business and travellers all over the country." Mr Falk-Petersen, however, urged caution against thinking that the economic crisis will not also affect developments in Norway adding "there are indications that air traffic is levelling off here too." During the year, domestic traffic increased 3.3% and international traffic increased 7.2%. Among the major airports, growth was greatest at Stavanger Airport in 2012 with a growth of 7% followed by Trondheim Airport (+6%) and Bergen Airport (+3%). [more - original PR]
