Australia reports 7.5% rise in Aug-2010 domestic pax

Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (26-Oct-2010) the following traffic highlights for Australian domestic airlines in Aug-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.6 million, +7.5% year-on-year;
  • Load factor: 79.1%, -1.5 ppts;
  • Top 10 domestic city pairs:
    • Melbourne-Sydney: 669,184, +10.7% year-on-year;
    • Brisbane-Sydney: 371,501, +5.1%;
    • Brisbane-Melbourne: 266,882, +20%;
    • Adelaide-Melbourne: 197,499, +13.5%;
    • Gold Coast-Sydney: 191,035, +8.9%;
    • Gold Coast-Melbourne: 148,465, +9.2%;
    • Adelaide-Sydney: 143,445, +6.8%;
    • Melbourne-Perth: 140,496, +4.5%;
    • Perth-Sydney: 125,628, +10.7%;
    • Brisbane-Cairns: 110,701, +7.1%. [more]
