Auckland Airport hopes to see launch of direct services between India and New Zealand

Auckland International Airport aeronautical commercial GM Scott Tasker stated (04-Jun-2020) Air India's Delhi-Auckland repatriation charter service, operated on 04-Jun-2020, marks the first direct Air India service between India and New Zealand. Mr Tasker commented: "I'd like to think that in the future we might see a scheduled direct flight between India and New Zealand. The bonds between our two countries are strong and our hope is that India will be a key market in the long term recovery of New Zealand's tourism industry". He added: "Less than a year ago, we led a delegation of tourism industry leaders to India and we were working hard to develop the market". [more - original PR]
