Asiana reports operating profit, yields surge in 3Q2010

Asiana revenue surge 34% - financial highlights for the three months ended 30-Sep-2010:

  • Revenue: USD1,231 million, +34.1% year-on-year;
  • Cost of sales: USD1,017 million, +7.8%;
  • Operating profit: USD213.8 million, compared with a loss of USD25.9 million in p-c-p;
  • Profit before tax: USD181.2 million, compared with a profit of USD804,750 in p-c-p;
  • Total assets: USD5,184 million, -0.3% when compared with period ended 31-Dec-2009;
  • Total liabilities: USD4,307 million, -5.2% when compared with period ended 31-Dec-2009;
  • International passenger traffic (RPKs): +11.4%;
  • International passenger load factor: 78.1%,
  • International passenger yield: USD 10.2 cents, +26.9%;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +12.0%;
  • Cargo yield: USD 32.9 cents, +21.3%. [more]

Asiana: "The increased number of customers who fly short distances, for example from Korea to Japan or China, and easing regulations on visa issuance for Chinese travellers contributed to the better performance.
