Asiana Airlines reports 39% decline in operating profit in 3Q2011

Asiana Airlines revenue up 2% - financial highlights for three months ended 30-Sep-2011:

  • Revenue: USD1246 million, +2.1% year-on-year;
  • Total costs: USD1111 million, +11.0%;
    • Fuel: USD422.5 million, +33.6%;
    • Labour: USD129.2 million, +5.6%;
  • Operating profit: USD134.3 million, -38.7%;
  • Net profit (loss): (USD41.9 million), compared to a profit of USD142.8 million in p-c-p;
  • International passenger traffic (RPKs): +9.5%;
  • International passenger load factor: 79.9%, -0.6 ppt;
  • International passenger yield: USD 9.96 cents, +1.0%;
  • Cargo traffic (FRTKs): +9.5%;
  • Cargo load factor: 75.8%, -1.1 ppt;
  • Cargo yield: USD 28.75 cents, -11.6%;
  • Total assets: USD5085 million, -3.2% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2010;
  • Total liabilities: USD4392 million, -3.3% when compared to period ended 31-Dec-2010;
