Amman pax traffic up 2.4% in 1Q2011

Jordan's Airport International Group reports Amman Queen Alia International Airport passenger traffic up 2.4% - traffic highlights in Apr-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.12 million, +2.4%;
  • Aircraft movements: 14,149, +3.1%;
  • Air cargo: 20,668, +1.4%.

Airport International Group: "We are pleased with these results, considering the current geopolitical situation in the region and the general decline in travel with the MENA region, as a result. In the context of the current circumstances, QAIA's continued growth demonstrates the resilience of the Jordanian market and our unique position as a preferred regional hub and airport of choice, which has been further reinforced by the open skies agreement recently signed between Jordan and the EU."
