Airbus looks at lifting A320 production beyond 40 aircraft per month

Airbus confirmed it is assessing the possibility of lifting A320 production beyond the planned increase to 40 aircraft per month (Bloomberg, 14-May-2011). Airbus is reportedly considering increases to 42 or 44 aircraft per month (Reuters, 15-May-2011). The European aerospace company is already working with suppliers to lift output from 36 to 40 aircraft per month by 1Q2012.
