Air New Zealand pax up 4% to 1.2m with 82% load factor in Aug-2016

Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 4.4% - traffic highlights for Aug-2016:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.2 million, +4.4% year-on-year;
    • Short-haul: 1.0 million, +3.8%;
    • Domestic: 755,000, +5.7%;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 271,000, -1.0%;
    • Long-haul: 149,000, +8.5%;
    • Asia: 60,000, +4.4%;
    • North America/UK: 89,000, +11.5%;
  • Passenger load factor: 82.1%, -1.2 ppts;
    • Short-haul: 79.8%, -1.7 ppts;
    • Domestic: 77.5%, -0.7 ppt;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 81.0%, -2.2 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 84.0%, -0.9 ppt;
    • Asia: 1.7%, -2.7 ppts;

Air New Zealand: “For the financial year to date, Short Haul passenger revenue per ASK (RASK)* decreased 6.0% while Long Haul RASK* decreased 12.1%.
