Air New Zealand passenger numbers down 3% - traffic highlights for Aug-2012:

• Passenger numbers: 975,000, -2.9% year-on-year;
  • Short-haul: 860,000, -3.8%;
    • Domestic: 608,000, -6.2%;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 251,000, +2.7%;
  • Long-haul: 116,000, +4.2%;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 50,000, +2.0%;
    • North America/UK: 65,000, +6.0%;
• Passenger load factor: 81.6%, -0.3 ppt;
  • Short-haul: 80.5%, -2.4 ppts;
    • Domestic: 78.8%, -2.1 ppts;
    • Tasman/pacific: 81.2%, -2.7 ppts;
  • Long-haul: 82.6%, +1.6 ppts;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 79.9%, -1.0 ppt;
