Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 9.9% in Dec-2010

Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 9.9% - traffic highlights in Dec-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.3 million, +9.9% year-on-year;
    • Short-haul: 1.1 million, +10.9%;
    • Domestic: 830,000, +9.5%;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 310,000, +14.8%;
    • Long-haul: 182,000, +4%;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 76,000, +4.1%;
    • North America/UK: 107,000, +3.9%;
  • Passenger load factor: 86.3%, +1.3 ppts;
    • Short-haul: 84.8%, +4.0 ppts;
    • Domestic: 84.4%, +5.1 ppts;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 84.9%, +3.3 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 87.4%, -0.6 ppt;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 85.1%, -0.3 ppt;
    • North America/UK: 89.1%, -0.7 ppt. [more]

Air New Zealand: "Group-wide yields for the financial year to date were up 3.0% on the same period last year. Compared to last December, year to date short-haul yields were down 1.5% partly due to the new seats to suit product. Long-haul yields were up by 7.2%.
