Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 5.4% in Jan-2011
Air New Zealand reports (21-Feb-2011) the following traffic highlights in Jan-2011:
- Passenger numbers: 990,000, +5.4% year-on-year;
- Short-haul: 834,000, +5.3%;
- Domestic: 583,000, +2.3%;
- Tasman/Pacific Islands: 251,000, +12.9%;
- Long-haul: 156,000, +6.2%;
- Asia/Japan/UK: 64,000, +6.7%;
- North America/UK: 93,000, +5.9%;
- Short-haul: 834,000, +5.3%;
- Passenger load factor: 87.4%, +1.4 ppts;
Air New Zealand: "Group-wide yields for the financial year to date were up 2.4% on the same period last year. Compared to last January, year to date Short Haul yields were down 1.5% partly due to the new seats to suit product. Long Haul yields were up by 5.9%.
