Air New Zealand appoints new CEO

Air New Zealand announced (19-Jun-2012) the appointment of Christopher Luxon as its new CEO to succeed incumbent CEO Rob Fyfe who plans to leave the airline at the end of 2012. Mr Luxon is currently group general manager international airline and has held the role since joining the airline in May-2011. Air New Zealand chairman John Palmer said, "Christopher has world class strategic, commercial, leadership and stakeholder management capabilities proven across multiple markets. These have been highly evident to the Air New Zealand Board in the year that he has been with the company and we have seen him affect positive commercial outcomes in our toughest operating division."
