Air Mauritius net loss narrows in 1QFY2013

Air Mauritius revenue up 13% - financial highlights for three months ended 30-Jun-2012:

  • Revenue: EUR104.5 million, +12.5% year-on-year;
  • Net profit (loss): (EUR10.4 million), compared to a loss of EUR11.9 million in p-c-p;
  • Passenger numbers: 292,449, +7.4%;

The carrier attributed the 1Q2FY2013 result as a "direct consequence of the current difficult trading condition in the airline industry" including the global economic crisis, high fuel prices, volatility of exchange rates and increased competitive pressures.
