Air France-KLM to make independent decision on widebody replacement

Air France-KLM announced it received assurances from a senior French minister that it will be permitted to make an independent decision on its widebody aircraft fleet choice, between the B787 and the A350 (Financial Times, 15-Jun-2011). French National Assembly members have been pressuring the carrier to choose Airbus aircraft for its widebody replacement, with 150 signing a petition to encourage the carrier to support Airbus.
