Air France-KLM pax up 2% in 2018, load factor improves slightly to 87.4%

Air France-KLM reported (09-Jan-2019) the following traffic highlights for network airlines (Air France, KLM and HOP!):

  • Dec-2018:
    • Passengers: 6.8 million, +2.6% year-on-year;
    • Passenger load factor: 85.4%, -0.4ppt;
      • Long haul: 86.8%, -0.3ppt; 
        • North America: 86.2%, -1.8ppts;
        • Latin America: 88.3%, -1.0ppt;
        • Asia Pacific: 87.5%, +1.0ppt;
        • Africa and Middle East: 83.9%, -0.1ppt;
        • Caribbean and Indian Ocean: 88.2%, +0.2ppt;
      • Short and medium haul: 79.7%, -1.1ppts;
  • 12 months ended Dec-2018:
    • Passengers: 85.6 million, +2.0% year-on-year;
      • Long haul: 27.4 million, +2.5%;
        • North America: 8.3 million, +3.3%;
        • Latin America: 3.5 million, +8.9%;
        • Asia Pacific: 6.4 million, +3.1%;
        • Africa and Middle East: 5.6 million, -1.6%;
        • Caribbean and Indian Ocean: 3.7 million, +0.5%;
      • Short and medium haul: 58.2 million, +1.8%;
    • Passenger load factor: 87.4%, +0.6ppt;
      • Long haul: 88.4%, +0.5ppt;
