Air China announces Chengdu-Sydney service, third intercontinental route from Chengdu

Air China announced (25-Aug-2016) plans to launch three times weekly Chengdu-Sydney service on 11-Nov-2016, marking its third intercontinental route from Chengdu after Frankfurt and Parissee Route Changes Table for more information. Service will operate with A330-200 aircraft. Air China currently operates 30 return services between China and Australia and is also planning to launch Shenzhen-Melbourne service in late 2016. Chinese visitors to Australia increased 32.6% year-on-year to 97,200 in Apr-2016. Chengdu also has the fourth largest air traffic flow with Australia among Chinese cities, after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. [more - original PR - Chinese]
