Air Canada's new LCC will need support of workforce

Air Canada CEO Calin Rovinescu said the formation of an LCC will need the support of Air Canada's workforce if it is to be successful (Financial Post, 06-May-2011). The carrier may not go ahead unless Air Canada can reach an agreement with pilots over the wage/benefits structure and work rules at the planned LCC. Air Canada hopes to launch the new unit in 2012, operating up to 50 A319s and B767s from the existing fleet to popular tourism and summer sun destinations.
