Air Astana completes first independent C check at Almaty Airport base

Air Astana completed (03-Dec-2019) its first independent C check at the Almaty International Airport base. The C check was completed on an A320neo in 10 days, under guidance of S7 Technics specialists. The carrier received EASA certification on the provision of heavy maintenance services for A319, A320 and A321 aircraft in Oct-2019. Air Astana VP maintenance and engineering Keith Wardle said: "Our primary goal is to minimise airline costs by independently performing heavy aircraft maintenance. With the expansion of our experience and capability, we also see the possibility of carrying out maintenance for external customers". Air Astana plans to significantly increase maintenance capabilities at the Nur Sultan base ahead of the first C check scheduled for 2020. [more - original PR] [more - original PR - English/Russian]
