Air Arabia postpones Jordan launch

Air Arabia has delayed plans to launch its Amman-based subsidiary Air Arabia Jordan (Reuters, 14-Jun-2011). The Sharjah-based LCC made the decision due to ongoing regional unrest and soaring fuel prices, CEO Adel Ali stated. Air Arabia also has subsidiaries in Morocco and Egypt. "Jordan is stable but countries like Syria, Egypt and Tunisia are still facing political instability. There is a lot going on in the region and with the current fuel prices, we thought this was not the right time," Mr Ali said. "As soon as the situation is clearer we will look at it again."
