AEA warns of weak recovery in Europe

Association of European Airlines (AEA) estimated European traffic increased 2.5% in 2010, although one-off events, including the ash cloud, strikes and industrial action and harsh winter weather meant the underlying growth rate was between 5% and 6% (ABTN.co.uk, 13-Jan-2011). AEA cautioned that the recovery remains "extremely weak" and the resilience shown after events such as the September 11 attacks and SARS has not been repeated.
