Taiwan OCAC: Taipei featured in Air New Zealand inflight magazine
The magazine dedicated seven pages to Taipei's attractions, including Yangmingshan, Taipei Confucius Temple, Raohe Street Night Market, Taipei 101, and traditional snacks such as stinky tofu and sausage wrapped in sticky rice.
Lin Hsin-jen, director of the Singapore office of Taiwan's Tourism Bureau that is responsible for the New Zealand and Australia markets, said his office has helped boost visitor arrivals from New Zealand in recent years.
Lin expected the number of tourist arrivals from the Southern Pacific to grow by double digits annually after Air New Zealand resumes direct flights between Auckland and Taipei in November after a hiatus of 13 years.
Air New Zealand announced earlier this year that it will resume direct flight service between Auckland and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in November and operate up to five round-trip flights a week.
Air New Zealand flew between the two destinations from 1991 to 2005.
