Jakarta - The Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 stipulates that every passenger of the aircraft must show the results of a rapid test and a PCR test that is valid for 14 days upon departure.

This provision is stated in Circular Letter of Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 No. 09/2020 concerning Amendment to Circular Letter Number 07/2020 concerning Criteria and Requirements for the Travel of People in the Adaptation Period New Habits Towards Productive and Safe Communities COVID-19.

As for the previous provisions stated in Circular 07/2020, the rapid test is valid for 3 days at the time of departure and the PCR test is valid for 7 days at the time of departure.

"The new provisions now stipulate that the rapid test and PCR test are valid for 14 days upon departure by airplane. The community has more time to do a check with rapid tests and PCR tests. "

In line with that, PT Angkasa Pura II is optimistic that flight traffic will increase.

"Traveler can manage time more flexibly, and we expect an increase in flight traffic to increase from July 2020. PT Angkasa Pura II also set July as a recovery phase amid the global pandemic COVID-19."

"We predict the number of passengers at 19 airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II in July 2020 can increase by around 20-25% compared to June 2020," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

As for June 2020, aircraft traffic at the company's 19 airports was 500-550 movements / day and the number of passengers reached 25,000-30,000 passengers / day.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said the increase in aviation traffic was estimated to be mostly in Soekarno-Hatta as the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia.

Connectivity between Soekarno-Hatta and other airports in various regions in Indonesia will be reopened. Likewise with the frequency of flights on routes that are already active, it is believed to be increasing.

"Soekarno-Hatta is a hub for domestic flights connecting Jakarta with other cities in Indonesia. Therefore, in the recovery phase next month, we expect domestic routes to be active again, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Be consistent in fulfilling health protocols
PT Angkasa Pura II is committed to carrying out procedures to maintain health protocols in the midst of this pandemic which can always be obeyed by all parties.

Document checking is still in effect by the Ministry of Health's Port Health Office (KKP Ministry of Health) and airlines at airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II.

"Aviation stakeholders must consistently and disciplined carry out procedures to meet health protocols. All stakeholders ranging from PT Angkasa Pura II, the Ministry of Health's Port Health Office, airlines, travelers, and others including rail and land public transport operators must be consistent with health protocols, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

On the other hand, to help travelers meet health protocols, PT Angkasa Pura II airports have prepared a number of facilities including vending machines for personal protective equipment (PPE) and places to conduct rapid tests.

Vending machines are already available in Soekarno-Hatta, which provide masks, hand sanitizers and wet tissues for 24 hours. The purchase process can also be done using electronic money.

In the future, this vending machine will also be prepared at other company's airports.

Meanwhile, facilities for travelers to conduct rapid tests at the airport of PT Angkasa Pura II are operated by BUMN BUMN Holding. This can make it easier for the traveler, because it can do a rapid test on the same day as the scheduled departure.

"In addition to preparing to support the health protocol, we are also making preparations related to public transportation in the recovery phase next month. For example in Soekarno-Hatta, starting July 1, 2020 Soekarno-Hatta Airport trains are already operating again, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Starting in July 2020, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train operates providing access from the airport to downtown Jakarta with the number of trips reaching 50 trips per day, and the maximum passenger is 70% of the seat capacity. All passengers must also undergo a health protocol before boarding the train and during the trip.

Through various preparations made, PT Angkasa Pura II is optimistic that the recovery phase can continue to prioritize health protocols in the midst of a pandemic.
