Scandinavian Mountains Airport receives IATA code

Scandinavian Mountains Airport has now received its official International Air Transport Association (IATA) Airport code. The three letter combination is SCR and it is now visible within IATA.

"We are extremely pleased to see that the IATA airport code is released as this will now allow airlines to finalise their routes for the coming winter season to Scandinavian Mountains Airport. We continue to see strong demand regarding requests from airlines and tour operators for information on the airport and the region and with the CAA approval process in full swing we are now gearing up for our end of year opening", Brett Weihart, CEO Scandinavian Mountains Airport.

Scandinavian Mountains Airport (SCR) will open on the 22nd of December, 2019.

Scandinavian Mountains Airport is located on the Swedish-Norwegian border in the heart of Scandinavians largest alpine ski resorts. Scandinavian Mountains Airport will open its doors to the world in December 2019.

Within 40 minutes of the Airport there are 4 ski resorts with over 250 slopes, hotels, apartments and cabins located right on the slopes with ski in / ski-out possibilities. There is a comprehensive range of restaurants, shopping, and activities for the whole family.

Scandinavian Mountains Airport is the first greenfield airport in the world to be built with a Remote Control Tower. With a 2500m ILS CAT III runway the airport is a state of the art facility.
